The Hill of Tara, was once the ancient seat of power in Ireland & 142 kings are said to have reigned there in prehistoric and historic time. From the hill on a clear day (lol) you can see for miles and miles around, apparently you can see half the 32 counties (16) in Ireland. Its pure magic and beautiful and no other place in Ireland is like this. You can see over 30 different monuments, some more than 3000 years old. When we were there it was quite about but it can be really busy at times.

Newgrange was built 5,000 years ago (about 3,200 B.C.), making it older than Stonehenge in England and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Its famous for the one, because its so amazing and so so old. Two, at winter solstice a beam of light penetrates through a small hole and it illuminates the inner chambers, basically it was to mark the beginning of the new year, that's the type´s of clocks they had thousands of years ago. Take a bus from Dublin and go back in time, just a little bit !!! :)
