The Dallas Museum of Art displays treasures from around the world. The 24,000 works of art, gathered from cultures large and small, represent more than 5,000 years of history. The Museum of Art is over 100 years old which is amazing if you really think about it. Whether you're planning to attend one of the special events or you just want to wander through on our own, you'll surely be inspired by something here, whether it is an exhibition, event, or tour.
Things to do
The best public art collection in the city. Well worth a visit.
This is one of those "must-see" tourist spots that is actually interesting to visit. This museum documents the assassination of John F. Kennedy from the building where the fatal shot was fired. It's like traveling back to the 1960s. The exhibits and audio guide cover the events from that day leaving you with a somber feeling while you are there. To complete the tour, I recommend visiting the grassy knoll in the square.
