Chefchaouen

recommendation by susanna-alaitz

Chefchaouen is an enchanting and quiet town sitting at the foot of the Rif Mountains. It is a unique place to visit for various reasons: it is small, calm and manageable yet friendly to tourists; the mountain air and atmosphere are relaxing;and you can visit the surroundings paths walking. People are really friendly and nice. You'll be as if at home.

medina

recommendation by susanna-alaitz

This well-preserved medina is a 15th century relic from the Muslim civilization of Andalusia. Narrow streets wind through blue-white walls where people greet you in Spanish because it was an old colony of the spanish and because there is alot of tourist. On the northern side, you’ll find ground-room floors crowded with weaving looms. Many of the artisans are friendly and will invite you in for a chat and to drink mint tea.

specialities

recommendation by susanna-alaitz

fresh & funky

The local specialty is baissara, but you'll also find the usual dishes as tajine (vegetable stew with goat or sheep), harira (soup), kofta (meatballs) and tagras (fish). The Salad Marroqui is a salad of cucumber and tomatoes. The region is also well known for olives and olive oil, and for goat cheese, which is sold on display in various shops.
