What is the nature of a civic building within a township? In a sprawling informal settlement - a legacy of Apartheid oppression and planning for segregation of people and space, the design sought to enhance the life and soul of the place and the people

Table Mountain was an amazing experience, It was such an beautiful view from the top, you can see all of Cape town. It was a good first sight to see. Make sure to wear tons of Sun block, because i clearly didnt wear enought and got severly burnt, and had a burnt face for the remaing 5 weeks of my trip. There is a restaurant, and gift shop on top of course. But overall it was amazing.

You take a short ferry ride to get to Robben island, and once you get there you take a tour of the Island, and the Jail. You learn about the people who lived on the island and what the prisoners went through everyday while they where there. Like Only showering in Ocean water, and your race and age determined what you ate, and you were forced to work in the mine. It was very interesting, and you even get to see Mandela's Jail cell.

Bikini Beach

recommendation by dropboy

natural

This stretch of coastline offers spectacular views across False Bay with the Peninsula in the distance. Strand offers a long stretch of sandy beach with safe and shallow waters ideal for children while Gordon's Bay is set in a sheltered bay with rock pools to explore and a promenade for walks. Cafe's, restaurants and ice cream parlours are readily available along the adjacent beachside road. The sandy, white Bikini Beach is sheltered and popular for sunbathing.

Boulders Beach

recommendation by dropboy

natural

This is a quaint little beach which has calm water to swim in and snorkelling is a very popular activity. It’s a great beach to take a good book and laze about in the summer sun. Boulders Beach has a very healthy population of African Penguins who have chosen the beach as their home and breeding ground. To view the penguins you will have to walk past the main beach and follow the boardwalk to the designated penguin beach.
