Arround 2 hours from cairo you will find a place called Wadi Natrun, where the egiptians took the natrun to momificated their mummies. Nowadays and for centurys is the main place for the copt cristians. Where it were 60 monasterys, now there are 4. You can visit it and some priest is going to guide you. Really interesting.
