Here is The Candelaria area (El barrio de la Candelaria), which is no doubt the neighbourhood with the "most history" of Bogotá and in a very big extent, Colombia´s. It was declared a National Monument in 1963. The streets are built in stone, very narrow, some flat but many steep. You will see churches, old houses with their balconies, roofs built in tiles made of mud, museums, theatres and a very lively atmophere. Also little squares where it is well worth a while to sit down, watch and rest.
