The Fòrum park held the "Fòrum de les Cultures" event at Barcelona in 2004. Now, concerts, festivals and different events take place in this park next to Besós river and the sea.
A lot of important architects worked in the project, like Alejandro Zaera Polo, Meuron and Herzog, Domingo & Ferré...
So, if you are interested in architecture, if you like Summercase or Primavera Sound or you just want to do some exercise next to the sea, Fòrum park is just the place!
Things to do
When it's cold in Barcelona, there is one thing you must do: have a hot chocolate at Petritxol street. They are delicious, even more if you have some "xurros"!
Very near to Les Rambles, this street has a long tradition of art, and you will fins art galleries, bookshops and many interesting shops. Moreover, you will discover Barcelona's history through the ceramics hanging on the walls.
Sant Felip Neri is a extremely peaceful square near Barcelona's cathedral.
Apart from its beauty, Sant Felip Neri has a very dramatic history: some kids died in it while they were looking for refuge when there was a bomb attack. Morevover, during the Spanish Civil war, some excutions took place there.
Although all of this, Sant Felip Neri's charm is undeniable. In fact, Evanescence their videoclip "My immortal" here.
Have you read "The cathedral of the sea"? It's a best-seller written by Ildefonso Falcones. The story takes place in the medieval Barcelona, when Santa Maria del Mar was built.
It is a very impressive church located at "el Born" neighbourhood. In contrast to Barcelona's cathedral, it was property of the neighbours of the area. And you can enjoy it nowadays!
And don't forget to visit "El fossar de les moreres", next to the church.
Sonar is a music festival in barcelona which showcases the best electronic music and art from around the world!

The festival starts at the end of June, so if youre planning on being in Barcelona then, its well worth going for one night of fun or the whole 3 days if you feel up for it!
