It's a relic declared a National Monument, which highlights republican arquitecture. It was opened in 1927 when the first train departed. It is no longer in use, but I was very lucky to be able to travel in it going from Armenia to Cali. Beautiful memories! And a gorgeous landscape too.
Things to do
The route in this park takes you through a lake, pedestrian bridges, a roller-skate aerea and a playground. What i find so special about this park is that it has a variety of plants and trees like "guadua", a bamboo like tree but bigger. In the lake you can also see swans and it's very calm. There is a theatre stage made of guadua and mud. The park was donated by the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (Coffee growers' National federation).
You can see representative pieces of gold worked by the Quimbaya culture. The route begins in the era when the first people settled in América, going through the colonization of the coffee land (El Viejo Caldas) until our times.
