City Lights is one of the landmarks of San Francisco. It's an independent bookstore specialized in world literature, arts, politics and alternative culture. If you love books, this is one of the best bookstores in the world to visit.

A gourmet paradise inside the renovated Ferry Building. Walk around restaurants, delis, gourmet coffee shops, specialty foods, breads, olive oils, wine, cheeses. Authentic California food. No chain stores. Everything in this cozy place is there for you to taste.
My most favorite bookstore, ever! In the "new chinatown" or "little chinatown" neighborhood, which is packed with good restaurants, Green Apple has two stores right next to one another, one is a regular bookstore with tons of books and a focus on local interest, and the other is a used bookstore with some records -- you have to dig a bit in the back, but it is usually worth it.
Great prices on both new and used stuff.
Open daily 10:00am-11:30pm.
I’m a girl who loves unique stockings, socks & panties. I’m a sucker for 'em. And Piedmont Boutique has all of these in spades! In addition to those items that I’m a patsy for, they also sell fetish wear, funky jewelry, gloves, hats, feather boas, wigs, costumes, cigarette holders and other fun accessories.
If you are looking for something specifically unique, they most likely have it. Items can be a bit on the pricey side, but, if you take the time to look you’ll find deals.
“A hardware store? Really?,” you ask. Yep. If you are in need of some hammer, nails, and the usual hardware or houseware goods, yes you can find them here. However, you will also find an array of nostalgic gifts and toys, sassy kitchen utensils, and playful desk organizers. In their annex store, you’ll find oh-so-much fabric, yarn and furniture.
More than a hardware store! Don’t miss it!
