Independent art gallery and wine shop located in downtown Madison. A must visit for any working artist who needs some immediate inspiration. I stop by here all the time just to see what’s new. The owners of State Street Gallery have it all right, their mantra is, “Art is Necessary, not just a luxury for the privilege.” Therefore they provide affordable prints, etchings, paintings, drawings and jewelry for everyone. The staff is super friendly and connected to the community.

The last time I went to Pop Deluxe I purchased some “steaktionery” – which was steak themed stationary dressed up like actual steak in plastic wrap and styrofoam. I am such a sucker for odd gifts. All the things they sell – mostly house wares, toys, crafts, odds’n’ends – are really cute and personalized. The only problem is that it’s kind of expensive. That doesn’t seem to keep people out of the place though, it is always super crowded.
