The Orient Shop is a small but cozy & cute shop located in the Old book market. The store has shelves packed with antique drawn maps, handwritten books, little miniatures and some amazing engravings. Their is a calligrapher in-house who can write your name in Arabic. Worth the visit. They also have paintings and other stuff.
Shopping
The Hugo Boss of Istanbul. This store does a few different things from wedding planning to chocolate making, yes chocolate making. Their clothes are like Zara but with higher prices. My recommendation is to come during the sales !!!
Brilliant vast vintage clothes plus some fabulous Ottoman (might have trouble on a ryanair flight with these). Fifties and Sixties with a hint of demi-monde. As Istanbul is torn between two great continents the products reek of old world but ready to wear anytime. And home wear thats timeless
By Retro which sets forth with the slogan “for those who want to dress but not to cover” is one of the biggest second hand and vintage shops in Istanbul. You can come across some special pieces of the years 1930s and 1940s in By Retro in which you can often find the clothes and costumes of 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. This shop is for everyone :))
a very cool bookstore. english & turkish. great design and photography books. nice lighting too. best thing about it is the amount of books that you want to take home with you :))
