This compact boutique has a charming selection of urban boho clothes and accessories for both sexes. The store's name -- referencing an early Sonic Youth album -- should probably clue you in to the sensibility of their Whimsical, artsy wearables. Their stock is especially well curated and the presentation of the merch will encourage impulse buys from weaker-willed hipsters.
Shopping
Canton Road is the most important commercial street in the whole of Hong Kong and probably China as well.
All important fashion and luxury firms have shops there.
Temple st. market is the busiest flea market in Hong Kong.
It's a night market so don't try to go there before 20:00.
It makes no sense to buy souvenirs anywhere but here, it's incredibly cheap and it has everything you can imagine: both real and fake :)
It is surrounded by cheap restaurants and bars.
You can get there from Nathan Road by taking Jordan Street.
Monocle is a tiny retail space run by the metropolitan culture magazine of the same name. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with effective presentation of its wares. It caters to a "casual professional" sensibility, with its selection of old-school writing paraphernalia, minimalist office wear, specialty books and music, poster prints, and of course, back issues of the mag.
If the staff are nice enough, they might let you peep at the well-appointed office space behind the main shop.
Who knew Hong Kong had a Times Square? Not nearly the overblown mecca of its New York counterpart, but, there's some good shopping at the Lane Crawford department store. High-end brands and unique Hong Kong style. Go nuts and get that designer cell phone you always wanted...
