Burghaus Kronenburg was built between 1760 and 1769 on behalf of the count of Blankenheim. In the year 1804, Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte spent some time in this house. Later, after the Fall of Emperor Napoleon, Kronenburg was integrated into Preussen and lost its political meaning. The Burghaus Kronenburg was used as official residence for more than 200 years and later as an hotel.
