Spoil yourself a little and enjoy a night at the Herrington Inn & Spa. While it’s not exactly cheap, all the amenities and the view – oh the view! – make it all worth it. The hotel’s an old, three-story, limestone building from the 1800s, rich with history. All the rooms are decorated uniquely, but each one has its own fireplace, whirlpool tub, and balcony. Our room was located right above the Fox River shore and it was gorgeous. There’s also a very recommended spa in the hotel as well.
Places to stay
A classic, bed and breakfast experience in the tall trees of Geneva. The Oscar Swan was built in the 1860s and maintains its antique charms to this day. They offer eight different rooms that are all unique and cozy. Room prices range from $160-$190 per night. The only problem I encountered here was that the room was a tad chilly. But the owner was kind and provided us with a space heater. You should also ask if there are any discounts available if you are staying during the weekday.
