Here you will find the last of the Grand Hôtel particuliers built in Arles by a noble family. It is representative of the beautiful residences the Napoleonic nobility had built in Paris and its provinces at the beginning of the 19th century. Guilaume Meiffren-Laugier became the mayor of Arles in 1824, and had a home built to feature his prominence: the Hôtel de Chartrouse, today known as the Hôtel Particulier.
