This place sounds like it should be in a state like Wyoming. So we had to try it out while we were there. It's log-cabin-esque setting is big and loud, like you'd expect it to be. It's a very festive atmosphere. But be warned, the waits to get into this place can be lengthy. But it's worth it once you see how massive the portions are. Everything is huge. And the game dishes are pretty adventurous; venison bratwursts, bison carpaccio, elk, and a full menu of classic steaks all grace the menu.
The Gun Barrel is pretty awesome -- and I say this as a vegetarian. It's filled with taxidermied animals from a former life as a taxidermy museum (or so I have been told). Even if you don't eat meat, it is worth going here if you are traveling with others who do. Their vegetable sides are really good and you won't leave hungry. The baked sweet potatoes are particularly good.
