There are few places in Wadi Musa, where you can consume alcohol. The Sandstone Restaurant is one of them. Place visited by tourists, offering typical Jordanian food, with inbound and kebas and chicken or lamb. Also the Jordanian dish (mensaf), rice with lamb and nuts. Musicians entertain nightly with the lute. Small Beer 3.5 dinars (3.9 euros), a pint of beer big 6 dinars (6.7 euros), plus tax of 16%. Good place to take a beer in the afternoon, upon leaving the ruins of Petra.
Eating & Drinking
The Petra Palace Hotel bar in the main street of the hotel zone, serving alcoholic beverages to a clientele composed almost exclusively of European tourists. Typical bar without an incentive to a pint of good beer.
Kitchen acceptable and quick service. A cheaper alternative dishes and more varied than the traditional Jordanian menu. Soups of lentils, onions or tomatoes to help recover the body. And if you want to forget for a day of kebabs and shawarma, you can choose different size of pizzas or pasta. Prices tighter. Do not serve alcohol.
In the main street of the town center is made with whole pieces of chicken and lamb roasting fire. Good and cheap shawarma, a typical dinner, quickly and inexpensively. In the same premises can have a drink and share with the locals. Ask the price before.
A Nabataean tomb turned into a real bar with adjoining terrace. In addition to teas and good coffee, wide selection of alcoholic beverages, from beer to wine and cocktails combined. Atmosphere for the evening, with European and Arabic music hodgepodge of people. Although prices are high and are reloaded with the 26% tax, the place is worth it.
