This fantastic coffee shop named after the Murakami Haruki's book and Beatles song is located near Gongguan station. European style decoration and good indie-rock music. They really prepare good coffee. The prices are the usual in Taipei (about 150NTD a cup), but they give you for free (on tea time) something to eat: cheese or chocolate cake, cookies or even a sandwich. And, of course, you can use the WI-FI connection for free!
Eating & Drinking
Fantastic pub located near Technology Building MRT station. They play really good music (mainly indie-rock), but not very loud, and they have good sofas, so it's the perfect place for having a drink with friends comfortable and quietly. They offer a good variety of drinks and food, but their specialty is the good whisky.
The perfect restaurant to try the traditional Taiwanese cuisine. The quality is really good and the prices low, even being located at Yongkang street; a place full of good but usually expensive restaurants.
Their specialty are the xiaolongbao (dumplings) and cakes, but they serve many of the most tipical Taiwanese dishes. I strongly recommend the beef soup noudles!
This coffee shop located in Yongkang Street serves fantastic frozen yogurt and yogurt ice-cream desserts with a good variety of toppings, such as fruits, cereals, cookies or chocolate chips. They also have sweet and salty waffles and smoothies in several flavours.
45 is a classic for Taipei night life and also a difficult place to reach if you really don't know where is it. You'll never imagine that inside that isolated building is hidden a cool pub. As far as I can tell, music in British pubs in Taipei (and also in Tokyo) use to be far from good, but this one has some very good DJ's.
