I’m almost hesitant to write this because I don’t want my favorite restaurant taken over. I try to come out to Saffron once a week. I am definitely hooked on this spicy Indian restaurant. I would recommend getting take-out over sitting down, they do have a seating area but it’s a little awkward. Anyways, the food! This is the perfect fusion of authentic Indian food and spices. My husband loves the chicken tikka masala but I actually prefer the vegetarian paneers more (and I even eat meat).
Eating & Drinking
I only eat sushi when I’m out visiting the 'burbs. As much as I love the stuff I can’t deal with big city prices. I have to have soup and salad. Sushi Ya provides you with complimentary edamame and delicious miso soup. In the city – where they’d definitely charge you – that’s like an additional ten bucks at least! They have a very nice selection of traditional rolls and sashimi. They even have a “Schaumburg Roll” that’s pretty good as well. Located in a strip mall, wedged between storefronts.
Came here once to see comedian Russel Peter with friends. The club itself is actually quite beautiful, very clean and spacious. Anyways, there’s a “two item minimum rule” which requires you to purchase at least one food item or one drink item for the night. I get it, it takes a lot of money to keep the club so nice. I wouldn’t have had a problem ordering food if the service hadn’t been so horrible though. Our server was completely aloof and took forever. The food’s standard bar food.
