Cafe Trieste stakes claim to being the first espresso joint on the West Coast, and boasts the celebrities who have visited here with their photos on the wall. Regardless of the namedropping and the longevity, Cafe Trieste in North Beach serves pretty damn good coffee. I liked to stop here before meeting up with friends, for a slice of their cheesecake – divine! A great spot to stop and have some coffee while trolling around North Beach.
