Lux, located on “666” South Avenue, is a bohemian gathering place that’s very liberal. If you get your panties in a bundle defending your right-wing political agenda it’s probably not the place for you. Otherwise, it’s a pretty fun place for local weirdoes to drink and talk about art. They have a strict “no television policy” which I completely agree with. Unlike most bars, you’re forced to engaged with one another or at least look at some sweet art. On Sundays they host build your own burger.
Eating & Drinking
This place is famous for their “garbage plate.” Apparently this is a common food item but I had never heard about it. Naturally I was a little apprehensive to eat a garbage plate. But what it is basically is a layer of carbs (like homefries, macaroni salad, baked beans, or French fries) that is eventually topped with meat and dressing. It’s super filling and actually really good. It reminded me of those massive hash brown plates from the Waffle House.
