Beautiful pace to go for lunch, tea and gourmet cakes/desserts in the old centre of Rio.
Eating & Drinking
Good and fancy Thai food in nice atmosphere with outdoor seating. Friendly and efficient service, reasonably priced, pleasant neighborhood.
Their famous dish is the File Oswaldo Aranha - a huge juicy steak covered with golden fried garlic, with rice, black beans and potatoes on the side. The "pimenta da casa" (homemade chilli sauce) is great. The best chopp (draft beer) in Rio.

In the neighbourhood at the bottom of Pao de Açucar this is THE place to go for relaxed beers and/or - great salt cod dishes (bacalhau) and others of african influence. Feijoada on Saturdays. Or you can have drinks ousite by the sea. Fantastic view.
