Devil's Alley

recommendation by adriii

fresh & funky

Great place for lunch, brunch, dinner or whatever in the city.

Its american food is so good and original. We had the best hamburgers of our life there. They also have salads, sandwiches and stuff like that.

The decoration is unique: very light and roomy but with nice evil-themed touches - narrow and cement-walled (like an alley) but tempered by lots of greenery and hanging plants. The main dining area is on the first floor, while upstairs is the Alley Bar.

Chocolate by Mueller

recommendation by adriii

naturalfresh & funky

This is not a regular chocolate store. They sell pieces of chocolate in all forms and size you can imagine. They have animals, professions, buildings, transports, patriotic... But the best sellers are the body parts.

People seem to rely on Muller's chocolate for they gifts... apart from the variety, they do personalized chocolates! So you can just ask for candy in the size of Angelina Jolie if that's what your boyfriend likes ;)

Oh, and.. it's delicious :P

This place was a surprise. It’s not as famous as other attractions on Philly but certainly is something you shouldn't miss.

The market is full of shops and restaurants with all kinds of foods from around the globe. It’s a colourful, alive, funny place with eating areas usually lived up with some acoustic live music.

There are also other products in the market (books, crafts, clothing, flowers…) but the main and best part are the groceries and the variety of ethnic food.

701 South Fourth Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This is the type of chill corner bar you imagine would be all over in Philadelphia. Fact is, though, few are as downright cool as this place. It's been around since before Prohibition, and attracts a unique crowd that appreciates quality cocktails. The best they make is a rye old fashioned.

Hot Midnight Pretzels

recommendation by goose

If you happen to be in Philadelphia and feeling snackish around midnight head over to The Pretzel Factory on Washington Ave to get the best soft pretzels ever, and piping hot. At midnight this no-frills bakery sells to the vendors (four large pretzels for $1.00, there are also sauces on hand for an additional cost), and you can get in on the bargin too. Really delicious and interesting to see who turns up for the midnight pretzel run.
