I had one of my best-ever birthday parties there!Everytime I go,the music is fantastic! This place isn't huge and it usually gets packed to capacity on Friday, and Saturday nights,so either get there early, choose another night to visit, or come ready to create some space on the dance floor with your spectacular moves! The drummers they bring are a great touch.Music is Latin, African, reggae, funky, "world" type music, great stuff to dance to!Phone: (718) 387-5389
Eating & Drinking
Hungry after your walk across the Brooklyn Bridge? Go to Barbarini Alimentari for authentic, high quality, & cheap Italian food. Their menu is seasonal so you're always getting fresh ingredients. This place is a million times better than all the tourist traps by South Street Seaport. They also have a large sit-down restaurant in the back but I prefer the store front for a quick bite in the middle of the day. Phone: (212) 227-8890
This is such a cute tea shop! They have over 100 varieties of tea and a great vegan menu filled with sweets. I also love their location on one of my favorite streets in the city. Also, this cool little shop is owned by Moby ;-) Phone: (212) 475-9190
It's a great place when you exit the church after mass for a bruch. While you are eating a woman sings soul and asks to the people where it is from, it's fantastic!! Ph: (212) 996-2669
D'Espresso is a coffee bar located near the New York Public Library at Brynt Park, that's the reason because its looks like a library, but more interesting.
The "books" are actually tiles printed with sepia-toned photos of bookshelves at a local travel bookstore that ring the room, including the floor, walls and ceiling. And the spherical glass lights jut out horizontally from behind the bar, rather than hanging from the ceiling.
