cultured

Les Four des Navettes, founded in 1781, is the oldest bakery in Marseille and is happily responsible for producing “navettes” for the past two centuries. The recipe for these tasty orange-blossom flavored biscuits, is rooted in tradition and legend. The same recipe and artisan craft has been used for the past 200+ years. Symbolic of the small boats which “les Saintes” used to travel to the Provence coasts, these little biscuits are an essential Marseille specialty.

Chez Sauveur

recommendation by bon-vivant

Let me preface this by saying that there will never be pizza like that found in New York. It’s a fact. However, if you're in Marseille and jonesing for some pie, go to Chez Sauveur. The pizzas are delicious, with lots of options at good prices. The service is quick & always friendly (even if you show up unexpectedly with a group of 6 before the rock show). Some here say that it’s the best pizza in town. Since this is the only pizza I currently know, I agree (until further research commences).
