Positioned between a souvenir shop and tour guide center this small eatery is truly a diamond in the rough. TThe best thing is definitely the location; there's no better place to have a quick meal while Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe pass by stepping on the stars at the Walk of Fame.

Bottega Louie is my favorite restaurant! Downtown Los Angeles is rather limited in restaurants, but I could eat at Louie everyday. It has a clean, airy, classy atmosphere with wonderful eats! It is rather European, with several retail items. (fresh flowers, wine, jams) They also will box up small delectables for you. They sell breads and a variety of small deserts. A small bar is located at one section for night life, and the kitchen is viewable. The white table clothes make everything perfect!
Tavern is a big, complicated restaurant open in one guise or another from breakfast all through the afternoon and the dinner hour until late night. It has its own bakery, a takeout deli and abbreviated gourmet shop known as the Larder, where you can pick up charcuterie, cheese, olive oil, salted anchovies and more. The coffee is good, the cocktails inventive and delicious. This place is always packed for a reason :)
