Eating & Drinking

BEEN THERE! WANNA GO THERE!

Growing up vegetarian, this was always my favorite place to go with equally health-conscious friends. Even my carnivore parents can vouch that this place is amazing, and not just for their meat options. I usually order one of their huge salad pockets that are stuffed with lentils and falafel balls. The tahini sauce they use will nicely soak the pita bread it’s served in so that’s fun to pick at. Overall this is a great, healthy, and cheap (around $8 for entrees) meal in Ithaca.

Just A Taste

recommendation by dylan

Just as the name implies, this tapas restaurant serves portions that will allow you to try “just a taste” – and a lot of them! I used to come here on dates a lot when I was an undergrad at Cornell. The ambience here is great and the necessary sharing of portions forces you to interact with your dinner date(s). Some of my favorite dishes include: red curry sauce chicken wings, fried russet potatoes with chipotle mayo, and the garlic braised greens. Make sure to order a flight of wine...

Pixel Lounge

recommendation by dylan

Really cool music and art lounge with twenty-four draft beer options. Excellent. You’ll spot this place by the fresh graffiti mural on the outside. The clientele here is a good juxtaposition of Ithaca regulars, hipsters, and Cornell students. The DJs here are excellent and help the place graduate to a dance party toward the end of the evening. They’re focused on electronic and hip-hop but that genres do fluctuate. There’s also a ton of good, kitschy video games here such as an old-school NES.
