While hardly an authentic restaurant, Negociants is a staple for both students and graduates. The prices are decent, especially for how much food you get, and their daily specials are delicious. You can't go wrong with the nachos: for just over 4 quid you get more than enough for two people!
Eating & Drinking
One of the best kebab shops in town! Portions are huge and the meats are cooked to perfection. They also have plenty of vegetarian options.
The Voodoo Rooms is a great cocktail bar. The drinks aren't exactly cheap, but they're very creative and tasty--my favorite is Cazadores Reposado tequila with pink grapefruit juce, and the Mango Rumpus is also quite good. The interior is lovely, too.
It might be a chain, but I still love it. The atmosphere is young and fun, and the drinks are delicious. The flavored vodka shots are especially good. Spring for a privilege card--you save at least 1 quid off every cocktail and get 2-for-1 meal deals, too.
Jazz Bar is a swanky, laid-back pub that plays live music every day of the week. Mondays they have an excellent big band and swing group that plays starting at 10, but they also host funk bands and other throughout the week. You have to pay a small entrance fee, but it's worth it.
