Eating & Drinking

BEEN THERE! WANNA GO THERE!

fresh & funky

Located just off the Colfax Cruise, this little joint is a hot dog lovers’ wet dream (the dogs really do snap when you bit into them!).The flavors of all the dog combos are interesting and to die for (Chicago dog, Jersey dog, Angel dog, etc). There is a large assortment of toppings to choose from so you can really pimp your dog. Not to worry, they do offer veggie burgers and veggie dogs to those that are health conscious non-meat eaters.

Buffalo Exchange

recommendation by douglas

Why spend your minimum wages at Urban Outfitters when you can drop $40 and walk away with a large pile of clothing at Buffalo Exchange? Located on the edge of downtown Denver, this is a second-hand shoppers dream come true. You can buy and sell new/used and vintage clothing and never have to worry about your money disappearing. Prices mostly vary between cheap and reasonable, with only some items being considered expensive.

Tom’s Diner

recommendation by douglas

fresh & funky

Tom's is a 24-hour restaurant that isn't interested in top-chef food and could care less about how strong their coffee is. The atmosphere is frozen in time with the majority of the décor looking like set-props from Pulp Fiction. You will probably order a hamburger and fries, and wash it down with some flat soda. You will remember little of the food until a couple hours later when your stomach freaks out. The service is fast and friendly, and you won’t spend more than $20.

Three Kings Tavern

recommendation by douglas

party animal

This tavern might be the only punk rock dive bar in the world with friendly bartenders, squeaky clean bathrooms, and customers without drug problems. Once inside, you’ll find yourself having little trouble scoring a reasonably priced beverage due to the taverns two serving stations. The jukebox is cheap and extensive in the rockabilly/butt rock/gutter punk veins, but you’ll never be put off by any patron’s selections.

Falling Rock Tap House

recommendation by ivan

Falling Rock is like the Sistine Chapel of beer bars. With over 1,200 beers on tap this is serious beer-enthusiasts oasis. Okay, maybe they don’t have that many, but if they don’t have it on tap, they most likely have it in a bottle. The staff can be somewhat distant if the place is crowded, but you could tell they are passionate about their products and full of information if you actively engage them.
