Tapa's are great fun, on a date, with a gang of friends or on your own, its good to eat and drink. The Boqueria is in a really nice area and 5 mins from everywhere. Fantastic wine list, boho people, nice atmosphere but its rather expensive compared to tapa's anywhere else in Europe but still worth a visit :)
Eating & Drinking
Scotts is most famous for its food. During the day you can get a good value lunch and in the evening you can dine a la carte. from 9 o'clock on scotts will function as a pub and upstairs will turn into a nightclub around 11pm on fridays and saturdays.
IL Padrino is my favorite italian restaurant in cork. the food is delicious and I think they serve the best pizza in cork.
