Eating & Drinking

BEEN THERE! WANNA GO THERE!

party animalfresh & funky

The building has been around for around 100 years, but the new lease of life has turned this place totally around. Live shows, cool people and a great place to meet and to drink. Decor is from the 20's 30's & 40's so you feel like you are really back in time. A great mix of people, arty, trendy, gay & straight and loads of in-betweens. Go and check it out, you will not be disappointed at all. As they say in Cork, Go for a Gawk !!

The Vineyard

recommendation by dropboy

Cork meets Carnival, The Vineyard reflects Cork's rich artistic tastes and diversification. Very much an Irish Bar, but with a difference. A very active part of Cork's frenetic social whirl and lots more to discover along the way. Welcome to a different, cool, sophisticated and vibrant experience. Welcome to Cork's soul centre. Nice drinks, very mixed people, and great fun !!

Music first, then food and then beer. The 3 witches lol. Sober lane offers a ton of stuff but more than anything it offers good times. Right in the heart of the city Sober lane is an experience. We went for the cocktails and stayed for the food and for the atmosphere around us. Jump in and enjoy !!

Early morning coffee's to late night traditional Irish music gigs, we went on a Monday night and then on Thursday and different music each night. Are all Irish bars world wide based on this bar, we would like to think so. Very normal but alot of fun and a very regular Irish bar. Nice pints of Guinness too :)

La Chateau

recommendation by dropboy

fresh & funkycultured

The La Chateau was established in 1793 and a landmark in Cork city ever since, being the only bar on the main promenade, once many years ago, the river Lee flowed past its doors. You can enjoy Irish Coffees as you watch the world of Cork parade by from the terrace area. Inside you can choose upstairs or down for comfort or seclusion. Its right on the main street and has eats and treats to beat the band. It probably is the best place in Cork City to people watch !!
