Hot damn! The best Japanese food in the Bay Area! A tiny little restaurant with fresh and healthy food and yummy tea. The best is the deep-fried "cha ya roll" packed with veggies and drizzled with a special sauce that brings tears to my eyes. The soups, salads, and noodles are all amazing too though! Get there early because you'll probably have to wait, especially for dinner on the weekends.
Eating & Drinking
This is a free sake museum by the company Takara that's pretty small, but they also offer sake tasting in a big open space. It costs $5, and they give you your money's worth with lots of information about the flavors in sake (there are actually different courses, from beginners to connoisseurs, but don't let it scare you, you can just go and try what they have too).
Motorcycle bar meets outrageously good pizza place. They even have a vegan ricotta-style cheese that I think is better than the real thing. The calzones are the best bet!
A meal will probably run you about $15 if you include appetizers and drinks.
