I adore this bar. I haven’t been able to find any place to match its equivalent outside Appleton. It’s very eccentrically decorated with Christmas lights, disco balls, and weird nick nacks all over. The bartenders are fun and goofy and aren’t skimpy on stiffening up your drinks. In the summer time their backdoor patio is the place to be – it’s a real haven. It’s “tropical themed” so there’s even a waterfall. What’s cool is that they’ll set up heaters for extra chilly summer nights.
Eating & Drinking
When I bring guests to Frank’s they often remark “It’s very Wisconsin.” I’m not sure what that means exactly but they were pleased with everything. Frank’s mission is pretty simple: serve good pizza without a lot of fluff. So they’ve spent a lot of time perfecting the sauce and crust. They’ll give you free garlic breadsticks too while you’re waiting. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, lots of dark wood and dim lighting. They serve all their sodas with noodle straws.
One of the best hidden-gem restaurants in Appleton. They serve authentic Greek food off a small, crafted menu. Try the lamb tenderloin with saffron sauce. I think it’s the chef’s specialty. The lamb is mouth-watering good and the real stand out. The soups here are also very good and creamy. They pair them with your entrees so the flavors compliment each other. The service is impeccable and the staff is very knowledgeable. Parking is tricky but there is metered parking close by.
