Carmel coated almonds - Convento de San Diego

ADD TO MY TRIP

The claustered sisters at the Convento de San Diego make some seriously amazing almendras garrapiñadas, carmel-coated almonds. So good! There is a revolving door through which you make your request and pass your money (never seeing the claustered nun). There's a variety of sizes and boxes, some of them quite fancy, but you can also get a small paper bag of them to munch on while you walk through the historic city.
Open from 9-2 and then 4:30-7:30
